Well since I'm 17 right now and talking to my 16 year-old self would only be a year difference, I'm going to talk to my 13 year old self.
1. Do not go to Townsend Harris. Go to Bronx Science. Townsend is academically unfit for you since it is so heavily focused on humanities (which I abhor deeply) whereas Bronx Science is focused more on math (which I like). Also, the overall school environment is not for you. You and Townsend simply don't match.
2. Start preparing for your SATs. It's early, yes. But it's better to start now then never. Besides, the more vocabulary words you learn now, the easier it will be later.
3. Don't slack off freshman year. It's the first year and all, but it is equally as important as any other year.
4. Enjoy your free time. You'll get less and less of it each year.
5. Be productive in your free time. Go volunteer or get involved in something! Don't laze around all day.
6. Cherish every moment you have left with all your middle school friends. You won't see most of them ever again!
7. Keep in touch with your middle school friends. Make an effort even if they don't. You'll regret it later.
8. You will not die in 2012. It's yet another fallacy.
9. Get used to waking up earlier. Waking up at 12 pm on the regular is a bad habit.
10. Binge watch all your favorite TV shows now!!! You won't have time later.
