1. When people cancel plans. Absolutely hate it. Don't get me hyped up for something if you're going to cancel in the end because you're too lazy to go out all of a sudden.
2. When people touch my things and moreover, move my things. I put my things in certain places that I'm able to remember them in. If you move them, I feel cluttered and out of place.
3. When the MTA can't get their shit together and insists that everyone gets off at Mets Willets point when the final stop, Flushing, is only a stop away
4. When little kids don't want to do their work when they're at Kumon. Why are you here if you don't want to do anything?!
5. When my mom wakes up earlier than I need to wake up. Those extra minutes always count!!!!
6. When group members don't pull their weight in a group project. Don't expect to get credit for something you didn't do.
7. When people talk to me early in the morning. If I'm on the train, trying to sleep, please leave me alone. Don't talk to me with an enthusiastic preppy attitude, I'm not feeling it.
8. When girls announce that they're on their period. I get that it sucks and all, but is there really a need to announce it every time?
9. When internet is slow and nothing loads. Haha, goes to show you how heavily we rely on internet nowadays, but I can't help but get annoyed
10. When bus drivers skip my stop because they see that there's 38402749032 kids who are all trying to get on the bus because we all need to get home. Inconsiderate much?
Welcome & Hollah ! (=

Day 10: Describe your most embarrassing moment
My most embarrassing moment was probably when I was walking home from the drugstore one day and my flip flop broke. I was at least 20 minutes away from my house and there weren't any shoe stores near by, so I resorted to using a plastic bag to make my shoe close to wearable. I literally tied the plastic bag around the strap of my flip flop and I walked home. It was so embarrassing, you have no idea. I thought everyone was watching me and laughing at me because I had a plastic bag attached to my shoe. But hey, you gotta improvise right? Who knows, maybe I can start a trend with this.

Day 9: List 10 people who have influenced you and describe how
1. My friends. All of them. I wouldn't be who I am without them. Each one of them is a different part of me.
2. My parents. Had they not enforced such strict rules and high standards on me since I was a little kid, I probably wouldn't have taken school so seriously. I thank them for that. I know that everything they did for me was for my own good.
3. My aunt. She really gave me a reality check, haha. I've been way too carefree and selfish and she helped me realize that.
4. Our screwed up generation. Thank you, really. I was able to realize exactly what I did NOT want to be like in the future.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
I honestly can't think of anyone else. Perhaps, I'll come back to this later. But ultimately, everyone I've encountered influenced me in some way. It's hard to really pinpoint one person.

Day 8: What are 5 passions you have?
Hmmm. What am I passionate about? To be honest, I don't think I've quite found anything that I'm passionate about. All I can think of that comes close right now is music. I really do like playing the piano a lot and I'm proud of the fact that I know how to play it. But other than that, I got nothing.

Day 7: What is your dream job, and why?
My dream jobs include getting paid for sleeping (or even testing beds), eating food (maybe even critiquing foods), and sitting in front of the computer. Oh, how I would love to be paid for things I enjoy most. #wishfulthinking
In all seriousness though, my dream job is something that lets me travel the world. There are so many parts of this world that have great things to offer that I'm missing out on. I would absolutely love the opportunity to truly experience all the beauties in this world for myself.

Day 6: What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?
I'm not really sure to be honest. Fortunately, I have not yet experienced anything that's exactly "difficult" so I can't really pick out a particular moment. I mean, given, there have been highs and lows but for the most part, I've been blessed with a pretty carefree life.

Day 5: What are the 5 things that make you most happy right now?
1. The fact that I'm a senior! I'm looking forward to so many things year. For once, I'm not completely bummed about going to school.
2. Good friends. It feels great knowing that there are a few people that I can always count on.
3. Sleeping in. Now that school's started, I hardly ever get to sleep in, so when I get that chance to do so, it feels so relieving.
4. Catching up on all my favorite shows. Especially since I don't have as much free time as I used to, it makes it that much more worthwhile.
5. Shopping. Haha, couldn't leave it out. I'll always love shopping. I love the feeling of getting something new.

Day 4: List 10 things you would tell your 16-year-old self, if you could
Well since I'm 17 right now and talking to my 16 year-old self would only be a year difference, I'm going to talk to my 13 year old self.
1. Do not go to Townsend Harris. Go to Bronx Science. Townsend is academically unfit for you since it is so heavily focused on humanities (which I abhor deeply) whereas Bronx Science is focused more on math (which I like). Also, the overall school environment is not for you. You and Townsend simply don't match.
2. Start preparing for your SATs. It's early, yes. But it's better to start now then never. Besides, the more vocabulary words you learn now, the easier it will be later.
3. Don't slack off freshman year. It's the first year and all, but it is equally as important as any other year.
4. Enjoy your free time. You'll get less and less of it each year.
5. Be productive in your free time. Go volunteer or get involved in something! Don't laze around all day.
6. Cherish every moment you have left with all your middle school friends. You won't see most of them ever again!
7. Keep in touch with your middle school friends. Make an effort even if they don't. You'll regret it later.
8. You will not die in 2012. It's yet another fallacy.
9. Get used to waking up earlier. Waking up at 12 pm on the regular is a bad habit.
10. Binge watch all your favorite TV shows now!!! You won't have time later.

Day 3: Describe your relationship with your parents
Uh...not good? I'm rather distant from my parents. I hardly ever talk to them or go out with them so it's hard to say we're close even though we're family. They're always nagging at me which frustrates me and causes me to yell at them when I don't really mean it. I just can't help it. It's a pretty bad habit. I do wish I was closer to my parents but it's honestly difficult because the idea of it makes me a little bit uncomfortable since I'm not used to it at all and also because my parents don't speak English, there's a lack of communication. Given, I do speak Korean fairly well. But, it's nothing compared to the fluency of my parents. I don't know a lot of vocabulary that I do know in English which makes it hard for me to properly express my thoughts.

Day 2: List 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears
Honestly speaking, I don't really have any severe fears.
But some things I am slightly terrified of include:
1) Public Speaking. I have mixed feelings about this. When it comes to an audience I'm familiar with, I have absolutely no problem speaking my mind and heart out. However, when it's with an unfamiliar audience, then I start to dread it just a bit. I'm not sure what it is about public speaking, but I'm just not comfortable with it all the time. Perhaps it's a lack of confidence or simply a lack of experience.
2) Dogs. Yup, you read right. I'm scared of dogs! I know they're cute furry little animals, but I can't help but be afraid when I see one. Whenever I come across a dog while walking on the sidewalk, my first instinct is to cross the street or walk as closest to the edge of the sidewalk as possible to avoid any contact. Sometimes even after I pass a dog while walking, I start fast-walking ahead so that the dog can't catch up to me. When I see a dog, I keep thinking it's going to bite me or bark at me which is why I try so hard to avoid them. I've been afraid of dogs since forever but a particular incident that definitely sparked this fear was when I was young and I was walking home. I passed by a dog hoping it'd just ignore me as I moved along, but I was wrong. It started BARKING AT ME really loudly and tried to even chase after me! (Thank god it was on a leash). That scarred me a little bit.
3) Dark. I don't like being outside when it's dark by myself. It's not really the actual darkness that scares me. But, it's more of what could happen in the dark. Especially since I know my neighborhood isn't exactly the safest, I'm a little fearful of any potential rapists or criminals in general.

Day 1: List 20 random facts about yourself
1. I have a serious shopping problem. I shop pretty frequently, and every time when I do, I tell myself that I won't buy anything for a couple of months to make up for all the damage I've done and in the end I barely last a couple of weeks before I go shopping again.
3. I currently work at Kumon and have worked there for over a year now.
2. I went on vacation to Korea, Hong Kong, and Macau this past summer. It was an amazing experience and a great getaway.
Here are some pictures from my trip:

4. I enjoy baking. I would bake a lot more frequently but my mom doesn't let me use the oven since she thinks I'll burn something down.
5. I love watching Korean dramas. They're overly dramatic but I can't help but watch them because they're so entertaining.
6. I can't imagine a life without Netflix. My favorite shows which include: Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, and Sherlock are all on there.
7. I have sort of a fear of heights? I'm a lil scared of going down the poles at parks but absolutely love LOVE LOVE roller coasters.
8. My favorite roller coaster is Nitro. I love all the drops.
9. I am practically legally blind without my glasses. Without my glasses I can only see things clearly about 6 inches away from my face
10. I've had glasses since I was in Kindergarten. (That's how blind I am)
11. My favorite shoes are flip fops. Most people think they're uncomfortable, but I absolutely love them.
12. Whenever I'm not paying attention in class, I'm almost definitely looking for split ends in my hair. Sometimes I come out of class with a lot less split ends than I came in because I pick at them in class.
13. I had braces for about 2.5 years until I finally got them off.
14. While I had braces, I believe I swallowed a bracket that fell off. A bracket disappeared, and I couldn't find it! The only possible explanation....
15. I love taking pictures of my food. I don't know why because I don't even have an Instagram and I hardly post these pictures anywhere. But, I just like remembering what I ate and looking back (LOL, I'm mad strange)
16. I am able to do this strange thing with my knees where I can move them without moving my whole leg. (It's hard to explain)
17. I'm a bargain hunter. I almost never buy items at full price. I always look for deals even when shopping at stores like Abercrombie & Hollister. I think it's a little outrageous to ever be paying $50 for a single shirt.
18. I rarely ever wear skirts. I'm not sure why. I guess I'm a little bit of a tomboy. I think some skirts are really pretty but I can't ever imagine myself wearing them.
19. I hate reading. I've only read maybe one or two books completely. Every other book I've "read", I've only actually skimmed or read summaries on sparknotes for.
20. I'm selectively social. I can be both an extrovert and an introvert. It depends on the people I'm with.
Senior Year WADDUP
s/o to mahin for commenting on a post motivating me to make a blog post
I have to say, to the very least, I should make at least one blog post at the start of the school year and the end of the school year just so I can compare and look back on what's changed, even if there's not much in between.
first things first, I'M A SENIOR NOW.
i've been waiting for this moment since the beginning of freshman year and it's truly hard to believe that senior year is finally within my grasp.
I'm absolutely thrilled for senior year. reasons being:
1) my schedule is actually decent this year. I have enough APs/college classes to keep me busy with a balance of frees so that I can still relax and avoid stress.
2) it's the beginning of the end, which automatically gives me a boost of energy.
3) this year is my year
of course I'm not looking forward to any college applications though...
I keep telling myself to get started and write a college essay, but I'm still stuck in my summer slack-off mode. and at the same time, I've looked at the essay prompts and i just can't seem to find anything worth writing. i am honestly way too ordinary. I haven't done anything spectacular, and my grades aren't spectacular either. I haven't had any life changing experiences and I hardly know what I want to do in the future. I'm just me. It's always so difficult to write about something or talk about something when it's about yourself.
Senior Year Goals:
Academically
1) Maintain a 97+ (weighted) average (lol i'm gonna die.)
2) Stay ahead in AP Psych (don't wait until the last minute to do outlines!!!)
3) Pay attention in Humanities and try to participate often and maybe even read the books for once...
4) Use your time wisely, especially on days you work. You don't want to end up staying up late finishing assignments. (I've never really had a problem with this, but you know, I can't let senioritis get to me)
5) Determine if I want to take the ACT again, and if I do get to work immediately and try to get a 33+
6) Do lots of college research and end up in a college you truly like!
Other
1) Attends clubs and or find one activity to stay dedicated to. I really want to volunteer somewhere long-term. I want to stay as productive as possible this year so I don't slack-off.
2) Talk to as many people as possible this year! Schools a lot easier when you have more people by your side. (Although I'm naturally very independent and hardly ever rely on anyone, I feel like senior year is a good year to make the most of it. I'll probably never see the bulk of these people ever again anyways)
3) Don't forget to relax. I know senior year will probably get overwhelming at times, but never ever forget to relax. I think academics are important, but I also think that enjoying yourself is just as important.
Anyways, I think that's all for my blog post! I'll add other things if anything comes to mind. I hope you guys have a great senior year of high school. It's the last, so make it count.
ALSO, if anyone from 801 sees this, can we please plan a reunion or something once we all graduate? I really want to catch up and talk about what we'll all be doing in the future.
