LOLLL, i love debating.
i had a whole debate with my mom on schools/studying/hardwork. XDDD

Me: Why bother studying if you're already good at it? Just do what you need to, and don't put excessive work for no reason at all.
Mom: Studying is always a plus. It's always good to be hardworking. Look, if you actually started trying, where would that put you?
Me: I don't need to study if I already know it. If i know i'm not good at it, I will study, I will seek help. Why bother trying when you already know our generation is plain stupid? It won't rise my level any higher when I'm already higher than most.
Mom: I know, compared to Korea, Americans are lazy and not as strict with the grades as they should be. In Korea, schedules would be packed, and kids would be put to their limits. But again, I don't think that's necessary.
Me: Exactly my point! Someone I know went to like 2790372 tutorials for the SHSAT. I went to one friggin' tutorial. You know what happened? We got into the same school LOL.
Mom: But still, it's always good to try, it's always good to study. It will help you.
Me: Psh, I ain't need none of that. I do things like a boss. Can't help that I'm naturally good at this?! LOLOLOL
Mom: *walks away*

AHAHAHAH, gotta love the confidence. It's really sad how some parents lack common sense. I'm surprised that my mom and I can agree on that. Doing well is important, but it's not good to stress out your kids and pressure them with loads of studying. It's true. If you already SUCK, studying will NOT change anything. It'll probably just drive the kid into so much pressure because they WANT to be able to do well on a certain thing but they CAN'T. Wanna improve? Let the kid do it on their own will.
